Hinton Football Club


Hinton was founded in 1957 and has a long and proud history.In 1985-1986 the Club applied to join the Mid Herts League. They enjoyed many successful seasons in the league, capping these when the first Xl were crowned the Premier Division Champions in the 2001/2 Season.In the 2002/3 season Hinton stepped up from junior to senior football senior football when they were successfully elected to the Herts Senior County League Hinton which sits at step 7 (or level 11 of the National League System), so is classified as ‘Senior level club’ with the potential to rise as high up the football pyramid as is possible.

 

Hintons’ First Xl were Division 1 runners up in their first season, missing out on the Championship title on only the last day of the season by only one point. Their Reserves were crowned Champions of Reserve Division 2 and also promoted at their first attempt in the same season.

 

In their first season in the Premier Division of the County league the first Xl achieved 4th place and won the Aubrey Cup 3 – 1 (after extra time) in a thrilling final against Whitewebbs at Ware FC.

 

The 2010/11 season saw Hinton crowned Premier League Champions the highest honour in the clubs 50 year history and achieving their highest position in the football pyramid. In a season that saw them playing catch up to Letchworth GC Eagles, Hinton enjoyed a great run in winning 8 of the last 9 games with two well fought victories against Letchworth GC Eagles to win the league by 3 points.

It is the ambition of the officers of the Club to run the Club at the highest possible professional standards with the aspiration to raise the Club to the highest achievable levels.
